The MCU42 USB communication module is a device that enables communication between a PC with the AFS42 program installed and the AFS42 fire control panel. Thus, it enables configuring the control panel, reading events and printing reports from the computer program. The MCU42 is automatically found by the AFS42 program and does not require drivers to function properly.
The MCU42 module is supplied with the AFS42 control panel.
The principle of operation(rozwiń/zwiń)
The device works automatically and does not require any action on the part of the user. The operation of MCU42 comes down to the conversion of data sent from the AFS42 program via the USB interface into the form of data in the form of RS485 interface signals and conversion in the opposite direction, i.e. conversion of RS485 interface signals into data in the USB protocol. The MCU42 is powered directly from the USB port and does not require any additional power supply. The correct operation of the device is signaled by the blinking of the LED indicator.
The AFS42 control panel provides galvanic isolation of the RS485 connector, thanks to which the MCU42 (USB) module is separated.
Before connecting to the control panel, allow work with the MCU42 in the control panel settings by going from the main menu to the SETTINGS\MMX POSSIBLE menu and selecting the setting IN SYSTEM to YES for one of the given MMX modules.
The MCU42 module, apart from configuring the control panel, also enables downloading (and printing) of events and remote operation with the control panel (sending the LCD screen and buttons) from the computer.
