GNW12, GNW24
base for alarm systems

GNW12

GNW24

Product description (expand/collapse)

The GNW base is available in 4 variants:

  • GNW12 – supply voltage 12V DC
  • GNW24 – supply voltage 24V DC
  • GNW12AR – supply voltage 12V DC and auto-reset of the alarm state (does not work with OSD23R)
  • GNW24AR – 24V DC supply voltage and alarm state auto-reset (does not work with OSD23R)

The GNW12 base is used to connect the OSD23 detector to a typical alarm system operating with 12V supply voltage in the detection line (GNW24 with 24V line voltage).
In addition to powering the detector, the GNW12 (GNW24) socket enables connection of a galvanically isolated alarm line, tamper line and allows for easy disconnection of the detector from the installation site for service purposes (cleaning).
GNW sockets in the AR version (GNW12AR, GNW24AR) have a built-in detector alarm auto-reset function, which stops alarming after the smoke has cleared. GNW12AR changes position of the relay anchorafter the smoke has dissipated, the anchor returns to the surveillance position.
The anchor of the alarm relay in the socket (terminal 4) changes position when the OSD23 detector is signaling about the presence of smoke (the red LED in the detector is on):

  • GNW12, GNW24 – for the whole time the OSD23 detector is signaling about the presence of smoke,
  • GNW12AR, GNW24AR (tj. odmianie AR) – detector reset, cyclically for about 1s every 6s, until the end of signaling about the presence of smoke by the OSD23 detector.

After the smoke clears, the anchor returns to the surveillance position.

CAUTION!
The AR version sockets (GNW12AR, GNW24AR) cannot be used together with the R and MR version smoke detectors (OSD23R, OSD23MR), because these detectors already have a built-in autoreset algorithm (clearing the alarm state and returning to the quiescent state after the smoke has cleared) – i.e. perform the alarm auto-reset function, but in a different way.

Construction (expand/collapse)

The GNW12 (GNW24) socket is built as a single electronic module embedded in a plastic housing adapted for mounting on the ceiling using, for example, wall plugs spaced 90mm apart. The device is equipped with connectors for connecting the OSD23/03 detector and screw connectors constituting the terminal strip of the detection line. The contacts of the alarm relay (3,4,5) and the TAMPER microswitch (6,7) are isolated from the electronic part of the module. The housing is equipped with a mechanical lock (implemented in the form of a plastic latch) that prevents the OSD23 detector from being removed from the base without using a key. Resignation from the lock consists in breaking the plastic latch before screwing in the detector.
